An alleged dispute between two individuals escalated minutes later that sent one person to the hospital and another behind bars on Guthrie’s west side Tuesday evening.
Guthrie EMS responded to the 900 block of W Noble for a vehicle-pedestrian accident at around 5:30 p.m.
The Guthrie Police Department is still investigating the accident, but says a fight between two males broke out near an old school building (Banner) and may have led to a purple Ford Ranger truck crashing into the front yard of a home just blocks away on Noble. That is where a person was struck by the vehicle.
A witness tells Guthrie News Page, one of the two males in the alleged dispute with a black eye, was picked up by a driver of the truck moments after the fight and is alleged to have barreled down Noble and swerved into the yard hitting a victim not related with the dispute.
The victim was transported to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He is listed in stable condition with upper body injuries, including a possible concussion.
One of the alleged parties in the dispute was transported by personal vehicle to the hospital for further evaluation.
The driver of the pickup was taken into police custody and could be facing assault and battery charges.
