Doubles teams finish in top five at Carl Albert

In a 16 team field at Carl Albert, the Guthrie Lady Jays tennis program made a splash in the doubles circuit with two teams finishing in the top five. Here are the results.

#1 Singles  Kaylea Hopfer placed 14th

Played Ardmore in the first round and lost 6-0, 6-0
2^nd round played Chickasha and lost 6-0, 6-3
3^rd round played Carl Albert and won in 3 sets 6-3, 6-7, 12-10
4^th round  played Mid-West City and lost 6-1, 6-1

#2 Singles Ryan Robbins placed 13^th

Played Ardmore in the first round and lost 6-3, 6-1
In the second round she played Choctaw and lost 7-6, 6-2
In the third round she beat Yukon 6-3, 6-2
In the final round she beat Harrah 4-6, 6-2, 10-5

#1 Doubles Sarah Howells and Carissa Mathena placed 4^th

Played Harrah in the first round and won 6-3, 6-2
In the second round they played the 3^rd seed Ardmore and defeated them in 3 sets 6-4, 1-6, 7-6
In the third round they played Altus and lost 6-3, 7-6
In the third place match they lost to the #1 seed Mustang 6-4, 6-2.

#2 Doubles Heidi Kuruvilla and Kamber Smedley  placed 5^th

Played Altus in the first round and beat them 7-5, 6-4
In the second round they lost to Shawnee in three sets 6-3, 1-6, 10-8
In the third round they beat Carl Albert 5-7, 6-2, 6-4
In the fourth round they beat Deer Creek 6-4, 4-6, 6-1.
