For the second straight day, Guthrie has felt registered earthquakes of at least 2.7 or greater magnitude. This time four quakes struck as people were waking up on Tuesday.
The largest earthquake struck at 5:52 a.m. with a magnitude of 3.8. The epicenter, like the majority of the quakes as of recent, was just south of Liberty Lake near Coltrane road.
26 minutes later the second tremor hit near Triplett and Kelley roads. This quake registered a 3.3 occurring at 6:18 a.m.
The third registered earth rattler came at 6:30 a.m. when a 2.8 struck just south of Liberty Lake.
Finally, the fourth quake hit at 9:17 a.m. with a measured 2.8 centered to the south of Liberty Lake.
Six registered quakes hit the Guthrie area in a span of 10 hours on Sunday evening and early Monday morning. The largest was a 3.8.
On Monday, Oklahoma Geological Survey says there were over 100 earthquakes near Guthrie in 24 hours. Most too small to feel.
