After spending 11 seasons in Guthrie, Pete Papahronis has been hired as the girl’s head basketball coach at Edmond North High School after a special board meeting on Friday morning.
Papahronis coached the Guthrie girls basketball teams for the past two seasons. His teams combined to go 22-28 in a rugged Suburban Conference.
Prior to coaching the Lady Jays, Papahronis captured back-to-back state championships with the Guthrie boys program and went to the state tournament in five of his nine seasons on the Jays sideline.
