The opening possession for the Guthrie Freshmen football squad did not go as plan against El Reno, but that was about all that didn’t go as plan.
Quarterback Reed Roberts was hit from behind when he released his pass, but afterwards Roberts collected himself and passed for three-passing scores and one rushing score, from 15-yards out, en route to a 40-6 win in El Reno.

Donavan Jordan collected two of the passing scores while Bailey Nichols caught the other.
The offense got one more score from running back Adrian Smith, a move-in from Coyle, on a 30-yard zone play.
“The defense played really great,” Roberts said.
Defensive back, Jacob Chappell, picked off an Indian passed and hit pay dirt from around midfield to continue the one-sided game.
The freshmen will now play for the conference championship, on Monday, against the Noble Bears. Guthrie will be looking for some revenge after suffering a 20-14 setback to the Bears on October 11th.
The Bears quarterback also serves as the varsity quarterback. Kick time is set for 7:00 at Western Heights.
