Elevated Fire Risk due to drought conditions in Logan County; local weather forecast

Parts of Oklahoma, including Logan County, along with western North Texas, are facing heightened fire risks due to an extended period of minimal rainfall, according to the National Weather Service.

The lack of precipitation over the past several weeks has left non-irrigated vegetation significantly stressed and more susceptible to ignition.

Meteorologists warn that the combination of hot and breezy days will further elevate fire weather conditions in the region until substantial rainfall alleviates the dry conditions.

Residents are urged to exercise caution and adhere to any fire bans or safety advisories issued by local authorities.
