Emily Beeby earns All-State status; Lady Jays take 7th at State

The Guthrie High School girl’s golf team represented themselves well at the 2022 Golf State Tournament in Kingston. Senior Emily Beeby helped lead the way for her team and in the process earned All-State status.

In a 12-team field, Guthrie finished 7th overall as a team in the two-day event at Chickasaw Point with a score of 781. Durant won the team championship.

Individually, Beeby automatically qualified for All State by being one of the top two seniors on the west side, she finished in the top 25 overall.

Natalie Blonien, of Altus, was the overall Individual champion with a two-day total of 145.

Sue Marie Meshew, Liberty Crick and Beeby helped the Jays to a successful season with senior leadership for head coach Jason Rice.

Sophomore Rylin Wells and freshmen Audrey Allen earned valuable time and will move into leadership roles in the coming years.
