The National Weather Service in Norman is expecting a cold front today that could bring some severe weather to the Guthrie area after 4:00 this afternoon.
Hot weather and strong winds will proceed the arrival of a cold front that will perhaps add fuel to the potential storms. Thunderstorms with damaging wind and large hail are expected with this storm.
Scattered storms will begin anywhere from the Stillwater to Ponca City area and across central and southern Oklahoma
These storms may produce a dangerous combination of baseball size hail driven by intense winds. The weather service advises to move indoors quickly when storms are around this evening.
The Guthrie forecast calls for a 30 percent chance of showers (60% this evening) and thunderstorms after 3pm. Partly sunny and hot, with a high near 100. Windy, with a south southwest wind between 26 and 30 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph.
