Ex-wife charged with burglary and assault after alleged kidnapping threat

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to an urgent situation on Oct. 26 at a residence on Brownwood Lane after a 911 call was placed with screaming in the background. A follow-up 911 call indicated that a woman had entered the home, threatening to kidnap her children.

The intruder was identified as Griselda Juarez, the ex-wife of a resident there, who had been banned from the property since 2022. The couple shares four children, and court records show that the husband currently has sole custody.

According to a woman in the house, Juarez entered through an unlocked front door and allegedly “pushed” and “hit” her. When the woman attempted to call 911, Juarez reportedly took the phone from her. Court documents state that Juarez threatened to kidnap her children and, in a disturbing outburst, allegedly told the children she might kill them and herself.

Juarez faces three charges: burglary, preventing an emergency call, and assault and battery. Court records also reveal a history of convictions, including breaking and entering, grand larceny, and interfering with an emergency call.

Juarez is currently held on a $70,000 bond with an order prohibiting contact with the victim.

According to jail records, Juarez remains in the Logan County Jail as of Monday afternoon.
