The Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport experienced a non-injury aircraft incident last week, involving a single aircraft on airport property, according to a release from the City of Guthrie.
City officials said there were no injuries reported and no damage to airport facilities or infrastructure. Damage was limited to the aircraft involved.
Initial information from the Federal Aviation Administration identifies the aircraft as a SteenAero Skybolt with the registration number N453DB. The FAA report indicates the aircraft’s left landing gear collapsed after landing.
According to FlightAware records, the registered owner of the aircraft is Grant Aguirre of Guthrie. Records show the aircraft is classified as “experimental” with a certificate issued on July 14, 2025, and expiring in July 2032.
Aguirre currently serves on the Guthrie City Council and is the vice chairman of the airport board.
As of publication, the FAA, National Transportation Safety Board, and the City of Guthrie have not named or released the identity of the person operating the aircraft at the time of the incident. Aircraft registration records identify the owner of an aircraft but do not necessarily indicate who was operating the aircraft at the time of an incident.
As a result of the incident, the runway was temporarily closed while crews worked to safely remove the aircraft.
An online search shows the Steen Skybolt is a small, single-engine, two-seat biplane commonly used for sport and aerobatic flying.
