A facility maintenance man at a Guthrie living center has been booked into the Logan County jail and is facing five felony sexual counts, including rape and forcible sodomy on mental patients.
Gerald William “Butch” Perry Jr. is accused of first degree rape, sexual battery and rape by instrumentation upon a person incapable through mental illness or any unsoundness of mind.

According to the probable cause affidavit, a total of five female patients, whom live Guthrie’s Westview Living Center, were named as victims. One victim is stated as non-communicative while the other four victims are at a middle school level.
The crimes were listed to occur between February 2008 to May 6, 2012. Guthrie Police were dispatched on May 6 to the living center.
Perry is set to be formally charged today at 1:30 p.m. inside the Logan County Courthouse.
The report says a victim disclosed to a staff member that Perry had touched her inappropriately on May 6 and is what sparked the internal investigation.
Perry, 60, was considered a caretaker as part of the staff of the facility and had been employed since February 2008.
In part, the statement reveals Perry would go the females room and lock the door and make sexual demands. One victim said Perry would sometimes give her $5 or $10 and instruct her not to tell anyone.
In one scenario, Perry is accused of bringing one patient into a room to perform a sexual act on him in front of another victim.
Perry is facing five counts: first degree rape, three counts of forcible oral sodomy and rape by instrumentation. In each sodomy case Perry faces up to 20 years in prison. The rape charge is punishable up to 15 years and faces five years to life without parole for the charge of rape by instrumentation.
He is accused of doing this for the last four years…surely others that have worked there during that time were aware of what he was doing and chose to look the other way and say nothing. How could this go on for four years and nobody else that worked there noticed???
That’s probably why he picked vulnerable mentally ill victims. Unreliable witnesses. Hopefully this brings awareness to mental health clinics and can prevent it from happening in the future.
As for “Butch”, I hope he rots in jail for a long time.

That’s why he left his home town and came to Oklahoma cause of his past in his home town. He was always talkin about his past in his home town when me and my husband lived with him and my mom. In Guthrie jail they only let u stay there for one year and then they send them to prison. I no he will die in prison
