Logan County investigators have made an arrest in what they are calling a homicide after a lengthy investigation.
Logan County deputies responded to 2850 Browne Ave., on Midwest Blvd and Industrial Road, on May 30, 2015 in reference to a reported suicide attempt by firearm. When deputies arrived they found a white male alive with a gunshot wound to the head. He later died at the hospital.
The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Geoffrey Wakefield.
Wakefield’s fiancee, Dana Marie Reeder, 37, was inside the home as deputies and investigators arrived.
Det. Greg Valencia says the details given to them were not adding up while collecting information.
“It was apparent to the on scene investigators that the reported circumstances of the shooting were not accurate and, therefore, a criminal investigation began,” Valencia said.
Investigators determined that there was probable cause to arrest Reeder for the homicide. Reeder was taken into custody on Wednesday from a relatives home in Lindsay, Okla.
