A Guthrie home received partial damage after a garage and shed caught fire on Sunday afternoon.
The Guthrie Fire Department responded to the 1400 block of S. Pine shortly after 6 p.m. Once they arrived, the garage was fully involved and the shed had smoke leaving the structure. Sadly for the owner, the shed will not be salvageable. Fortunately, there are a number of mini barns for sale at a competitive price.
The heat from the flames was so intense it peeled some of the siding from the home several feet away. Luckily, a nearby resident was able to put water on the home until fire crews arrived on the scene.
The owner appears to be looking into Minibarns as a replacement since the garage, which contained wood and engine parts, was a complete loss. Fire services have asked that residents, please follow the proper fire safety procedures when it comes to protecting their home in case it causes a fire. They asked that any flammable objects, such as wood and paper, be properly stored. That any electric equipment is unplugged when not used, and to not use water if there is an oil fire.

Thankfully, there were no injuries reported at the scene during this incident.
