The Central Community Foundation board recently approved a grant of $3,788 to First Capital Neighborhood Solutions of Guthrie, Oklahoma to purchase two wheelchair ramps towards “The Great Escape” project.
“The Great Escape” project began in February as a result of overwhelming wheelchair ramp requests received following the announcement of FCNS’s rural “Housing Preservation” (HPG) investment. HPG will assist low income homeowners with repairs related to roofing, windows, plumbing, electrical, foundation and accessibility. “The Great Escape” project is expected to be completed Feb. 2020.
FCNS has a variety of other programs, such as organizing neighborhood watch groups, grant assistance for neighborhood groups, grant assistance and financial assistance for home repairs, financial assistance for home ownership, financial counseling and credit report repair, workshops and forums, and beautification programs. For more information about FCNS, visit neighborhoodsolutionsok.org or call (405) 282-2284.
