The momentum for downtown block parties continues to increase in popularity with music, activities, food and social gathering. The Guthrie Summer Streets momentum will continue into August with “Open Streets” and another edition of Red Brick Nights.
Open Streets, set for Aug. 14 from 6 – 9 p.m., is a local health and wellness project. The event is sponsored by Logan County Health Living Program, Guthrie City Hall, Guthrie Chamber, Mercy Hospital and Shelton Photography.
Event organizers say they believe in active transportation – like biking or walking from point A to B – promoting healthier residents with closer ties to their community.
The free and family event will have booths with games, activities and food trucks.
Currently, businesses and non-profits are being encouraged to apply to secure a booth for the downtown event. For more vendor information, visit the Chamber’s website.
The lineup has not been formally announced, but the August version of Red Brick Nights will be Aug. 6. at 2nd Street and Harrison Ave.
