It’s officially tax season time and a group of volunteers here in Guthrie are offering free tax preparation.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program is offering free tax preparation for visitors until April 17, 2012 inside the Central Oklahoma Community Action Agency, located at 219 S. Broad St.
A trained preparer will check your taxes for any tax credits and file the paperwork with the IRS.
The free tax service is offered to those who make less than $50,000 each year.
Those wishing to file need to bring last year’s tax return, a photo ID of you and your spouse, Social Security cards for everyone on the return, all forms, including W-2 and 1099’s, information on any other income and information for all deductions and credits.
Appointments are requested and will have priority over walk-ins. For more information, call (405) 282-4332
