The Friends of the Guthrie Public Library are celebrating 40 years of community involvement and support of literacy with their annual Used Book Sale, the organization’s primary fundraiser.
The event will begin Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, with the Friends’ annual meeting starting at 7 p.m. The meeting will be followed immediately by a members-only presale. During the meeting, members will also vote on proposed new bylaws.
As in previous years, the Used Book Sale will be held in the Fellowship Hall at First United Presbyterian Church, located at 102 E. Noble Street in Guthrie.
The sale will open to the public on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. In recognition of the Friends’ 40th anniversary, a new sale day has been added this year. On Sunday, Feb. 8, from noon to 4 p.m., shoppers will be able to take advantage of a $5 bag sale, with bags provided.
Proceeds from the Used Book Sale directly benefit the Guthrie Public Library, helping fund library programs, materials, and services for the community.
