The man who has been on the run from both Logan and Oklahoma County sheriff deputies turned himself in on Sunday evening.
Josh Walton, 23, walked into the Logan County Sheriff’s Office before 9 p.m. and surrendered.
Walton did not follow through to establish a transient registration and has not returned to his registered address in Logan County. Therefore, had arrest warrants through the Logan County District Court for Violation of the Sex and Violent Offender Registration Act, and Failure to Register as Sex Offender.
As a result of the criminal action, the Department of Corrections filed for a revocation of Walton’s previous 2011 suspended sentence for a previous conviction for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. A separate felony arrest warrant has been issued through the Logan County District Court.
On Friday, Walton is believed to have ben the driver who led Oklahoma County deputies in a high-speed pursuit with speeds reaching as high as 127 mph.
The car, which was reported stolen, eventually crashed into a Logan County field near South Midwest Boulevard and East Redbud Lane.
After an hour-long search, deputies called off the search.
Walton also has outstanding warrants in Oklahoma County, including one for
lewd or indecent acts with a child.
Walton is expected to be arraigned on Monday inside a Logan County courtroom on Monday.
