Gas line replacement prompts temporary virtual learning at Guthrie High School

Students at Guthrie High School will move to virtual instruction Thursday and Friday, Feb. 26-27, after a gas line replacement was discovered as necessary during ongoing construction at the campus.

School officials said the gas line must be replaced to safely continue construction work. To allow crews to complete the project without disruption, the high school building will be closed to in-person learning for the two days.

The work is expected to be finished in time for students to return to class on Monday, March 2.

The high school is the only site impacted.

All other students in Guthrie Public Schools will attend classes at their normal scheduled times. Students who attend Meridian Technology Center will also continue with their regular schedules.
