The Guthrie Fire Department earned two awards at the annual Mother Road Fire Truck Show and Muster this past weekend in Stroud.
Truck 1, the department’s ladder truck, received first place in the Aerial Truck Division along with Best of Show award.
The department’s Facebook page was flooded with congratulations sentiments, including City Manager Leroy Alsup.
“Congratulations Guthrie FD/ EMS. I am glad that you take such pride in what you do! #TEAMGUTHRIE,” Alsup commented.
The 107 foot aerial ladder truck was purchased through the City of Guthrie’s Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) in 2016. The truck has been in the department’s fleet since August 2018.
Along with Guthrie, other Logan County fire departments also came away with recognition.
The Orlando Volunteer Fire Department took first place in the Engine Division and Deer Creek Fire Protection District finished second overall for the Brush Truck Division.
