GHS alum Drew Dodgion named CSC Academic All-District

Drew Dodgion, a 2020 Guthrie High School alum, was one of seven student-athletes from the Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) golf program were named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District selections on Tuesday.

This marks the second straight year for Dodgion, a redshirt junior, to accomplish all-district status.

Academic All-District selections were based on combined academic and athletic qualifications. Golf nominees must have competed in 70% of the team’s events and hold a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative GPA. They must also be at least a sophomore.

The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

While at Guthrie, Dodgion placed 10th at state her junior season and was poised to improve her place at state the following year but the season was cut short due to the pandemic.
