The Guthrie High School Wind Ensemble has been picked as the Class 5A school to play at the 2018 Oklahoma Music Educators Association (OKMEA) State Conference.
“I am honored beyond measure and proud to be a Bluejay,” GHS band Director Rob Blackburn said as he shared the news.
The 5A honor band, who was selected from several bands, will be performing in front of the entire state of band directors, family and friends in the Performing Arts Center as the selected honor group.
The event is set for Jan. 19 in downtown Tulsa.
“This is a huge honor and these kids are super deserving,” Blackburn said.
