Based on the current forecast of possible severe weather and heavy rains next week including
Friday, the Guthrie High School graduation ceremonies, originally scheduled for Jelsma
Stadium, will now take place at the Lazy E Arena.
The arena became available recently due to a cancellation.
“We are thankful for the option of an indoor graduation venue to assure we do not have to
postpone the ceremonies,” Superintendent Dr. Mike Simpson said in a release.
The scheduled starting time will remain 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 21st.
Graduation practice will be at the arena beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday.
The current protocols in place at the Lazy E Arena include a suggestion of masks and
attendance will not be restricted.
On Friday evening, the building will be open to the public at 6 p.m.
“The Lazy E Arena staff continue to be incredibly supportive of our
community. This is what the class of 2021 deserves to celebrate their accomplishments,” Simpson said.
