For the first time in school history, both the Guthrie High School boys and girls soccer teams are going to the playoffs in the same season.
Both programs will play in the first round of the playoffs on Tuesday, May 1 at 7:30 p.m. With a win, the season advances to the following Friday (May 5).
The Lady Jays will travel Piedmont and the Jays will travel to Santa Fe South.
The Jays qualify for postseason for the first time since 2007.
After starting the season 0-2 in district, the Jays won four of their last five district games, including four in a row to finish 4-3. Overall, they finished 5-7 in the regular season.
For the Lady Jays, they finished 6-6 overall and 4-3 in the district.
The girls, who last qualified for the playoffs in 2014, program finished the regular season by winning four of their last five games.
