Guthrie High School will be hosting a financial aid workshop for all seniors on Jan. 25 and a scholarship night for seniors on February 11. Both initiatives will be held from 6:30-8:30 in the cafeteria at Guthrie High School.
Principal Chris LeGrande invites students and guardians to attend both events.
“If you are interested in applying for financial assistance in order to make college a reality for your child but do not know where to begin, please plan to attend these informative workshops,” LeGrande said.
“Representatives will be on site to assist you with the application process and to answer any questions you may have. In addition, lap top computers will be available if you wish to complete applications during your visit.”
To complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASA), parents will need to present the following on Jan. 25:
• Social Security Number and child’s Social Security Number
• Most recent federal income tax return, W-2’s and other records of money earned
• Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable)
• Records of untaxed income (if applicable)
• An FSA ID to sign electronically (may submit the online application that night)
Students should bring an updated resume to expedite the scholarship process on the evening of February 11.
