GHS track teams qualify for 5A state tournament in Yukon

Congrats are in order for the Guthrie High School boys and girls track and field teams for qualifying for the Class 5A state track this week in Yukon.

The Bluejays finished fourth overall and the Lady Jays finished eighth in the Claremore regional.

Highlighting the day was a first and second place finish in the girls 1600 meter run with Aryianna Wilkins taking first and Tori Wells finishing right behind her for second.

Trevor Sallee finished first in the 3200 meter and second in the 1600 meter run.

CJ Ward won the long jump competition and finished fifth in the 100 meter dash.

Dalton Freshour finished fifth in the shot put.

Aislin Ballard took fifth in the long jump.

The boys relay teams (4×100, 4×200, 4×400, 4×800) finished fourth, fifth, fifth and fourth. Meanwhile, the girls relay teams (4×400 and 4×800) finished fifth and sixth.

Regional champions, include Payton Milner in the high jump, Ward in the long jump, Sallee in the 3200 meter, Wilkins in the 1600 meter. Also qualifying were Mercy Dement, Allie Guggisberg, Garrett Walters, JD Coonfield, Rodrigo Solis, Tori Wells and Denae Davenport
