The local Girl Scout troop is organizing Thinking Day Events for Local Girl Scouts for the second year in a row. This year’s event planning and happenings will be a large portion of earning Bronze and Silver Awards for eight girls.
This year’s theme is: We Can Save Our Planet. The troop’s focus is on reuse, recycle, and renew to lower our carbon footprint and save the planet.
The Junior level girls will be completing the service project for their Bronze Award by planning and leading a portion of the Thinking Day Activities that are for the local Girl Scouts.
The Cadette level girls will be completing the service project for their Silver Award by planning and leading a portion of Thinking Day Activities and Organizing and Performing a Community Wide Clothing Swap.
This Event is on February 18, 2012 in the American Legion Building. The Clothing Swap will be from 9 am to noon. The Girl Scout activities portion will be from 1 pm to 4 pm. Local community leaders are invited and encouraged to attend either or both.
