Fans are showing up in good numbers and taking in the eight-team Guthrie Summer Baseball Classic inside Squires Field.
The three-day event features teams from Stillwater, Edmond, Midwest City, Kingfisher, Piedmont and Guthrie. Related story: Walk off gives Guthrie Baseball tournament championship win
On day one of pool play, Midwest City defeated Kingfisher (4-0) and Stillwater 2 took down Edmond Santa Fe (10-1) in Pool B.
In Pool A, Guthrie scored seven unanswered runs to take down Stillwater 1 (7-3). With the win, the Jays will play in the championship game with one more game left in pool play on Saturday.
On day two, Stillwater 3 clinched a championship game berth by shutting out Stillwater 2 (4-0). Guthrie had no problems with Midwest City (12-1) while Stillwater kept their distance from Kingfisher (5-2). Piedmont had zero trouble with Edmond Santa Fe (10-2) in a six-inning run rule game.
