Grant Aguirre sworn into city council seat

Grant Aguirre is sworn into office on March 21, 2023. Municipal Judge David Hood gave the oath.

Grant Aguirre is back on the Guthrie city council. He was sworn into office Tuesday evening inside City Hall.

Three candidates filed paperwork to serve on the council. Aguirre was recommended by the nominating committee which included three council members (James Long, Tracy Williams, and Brian Bothroyd).

Thank you for the opportunity to serve the citizens of Guthrie and the citizens of Ward 3,” Aguirre said. “It’s an honor.”

Aguirre served on the council from 1999 to 2003.

The appointment not only fulfills the current term but the next four-year term that begins on May 1, 2023.
