A grant by Homeland Security will help the Guthrie Police Department be more visible in the community and help shorten respond time to calls.
Earlier this month, the City of Guthrie received notice that the Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security awarded the city a $30,540.00 grant for six mobile laptops and affiliated hardware to mount in the police cars.
The laptops will allow staff to complete and approve reports in the field instead of being required to come to the station.
The city council approved the grant in their last council session.
