Several fire agencies across Logan County were dispatched to I-35 for two grass fires near each other. Firefighters needed to act quick with the flames approaching a home.
At around 2:40 p.m., the Guthrie Fire Department responded to mile marker 154 and Brookside St., which is located west of the southbound lane.
The fire was approaching a home near Brookside St., but a homeowner with a garden hose was able to knock down the fire.
Hay bales were seen burning near the residence.
Fire crews from Sooner, Coyle, Oak Cliff and Woodcrest were requested. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Logan County Sheriff’s Office provided traffic control.
Firefighters needed 60 minutes to get complete control of the fires.
