The Guthrie Chamber of Commerce was presented the most Outstanding Event for the Gentlemen of the Road/Guthrie Stopover that was held last September. Headlining the event was Grammy winning group Mumford & Sons. Mary Coffin and Lucy Swanson were on hand to receive the honor.

“We are so honored to have received this award, which really represents the efforts of our whole community as we came together to make GOTR-Guthrie Stopover the huge success that it was! So come by The Chamber some time and see the beautiful award that you won, and think about what we can do next!”

Emceed by Lt. Governor Todd Lamb and “Discover Oklahoma” host Jennifer Reynolds, twenty eight awards were given in sixteen categories. The awards recognize Oklahoma’s top tourism attractions, events, programs and organizations for outstanding efforts to serve and promote Oklahoma’s tourism industry.

Competition entries must have been produced, published, broadcast or held between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2013. All entries were evaluated by a slate of tourism professionals on specific criteria including customer service and experience, marketing effectiveness, media relations, variety of audiences reached, value, and overall creativity.
