Guthrie drops 10-4 game to Blanchard

Despite Rowdy Reihs’ 2-3 performance at the plate on Saturday, Bluejays took a 10-4 loss at the hands of Blanchard at Squires Field.

Guthrie Baseball LogoThree of Bluejays’ runs were scored thanks to timely hitting by Rowdy. He singled in the second inning and homered to lead off the fourth inning.

Tanner Long got the win in relief for Blanchard. Tanner pitched 4 2/3 innings and allowed one run.

Reihs was charged with his first loss of the season. He allowed nine runs in 5 1/3 innings, walked four and struck out two.

The bottom of the second saw Bluejays take an early lead, 2-0. Bluejays caught fire after Beau Davis singled. Then Reihs singled, scoring Beau and Donovan Jordan.

Bluejays (26-7) brought home one run in the third inning, and matched that run total in the fourth. In the third, Bluejays scored on a sacrifice fly by Donovan, bringing home Camden Wilcott.

Blanchard (21-8) didn’t relinquish the lead after scoring two runs in the fifth inning when it scored on an RBI single by Brett Owen.
