Seven talented students from Guthrie High School have been recognized for their exceptional skills and achievements in the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Star Events. The results of the state-level competition were announced recently, and Guthrie High School students shined, with four students earning second place and three students earning third place in their respective categories.
Grace Mungai, a dedicated student, secured the third place position in Chapter Community Service for her outstanding efforts in serving the community. Emma Poupard impressed the judges with her fashion design skills, earning her the third place spot in the Fashion Design category. Avery Wooden showcased her excellent communication skills and claimed the third place position in Interpersonal Communication.
In addition, Bella Benham and Hunter Smith demonstrated exceptional teamwork and event management skills, earning them the second place position in the Event Management category. Alexandra Wilkins showcased her creativity and craftsmanship, securing the second place position in the Fashion Construction category. Lastly, Addyson Pollard’s innovative approach to repurposing and redesigning earned her the second place position in Repurpose and Redesign category.
As a result of their exceptional performances, Bella Benham, Hunter Smith, Alexandra Wilkins, and Addyson Pollard have been invited to represent Guthrie High School and compete at the FCCLA Nationals in Denver, Colorado. This is a tremendous accomplishment and a testament to their hard work and dedication to their craft.

We wish Bella, Hunter, Alexandra, and Addyson the best of luck as they represent Guthrie High School on the national stage.”
FCCLA is a dynamic and student-led organization that helps young individuals become leaders in their families, careers, and communities through a variety of Family and Consumer Sciences education programs. The FCCLA Star Events provide students with the opportunity to showcase their skills, knowledge, and creativity in various categories, such as community service, fashion, communication, and event management.
