The Guthrie FFA is sponsoring a First Responder Drive to help local emergency first responders as well as the local food bank at Guthrie High School. As an FFA week activity members decided to launch this drive as a way to give back to the community and help those who are always putting themselves on the front lines.
“The Guthrie FFA greatly appreciates all that our first responders do, and we want to make sure to help them have many of the important items they need to serve our community especially in the times of the Covid Pandemic,” Clay Drake said who overlooks the Guthrie FFA program.
The FFA is asking it’s members as well as community members to help donate items such as gloves, masks, disinfectant wipes, water, Gatorade, note pads, pens and canned food items so that they can distribute to the various departments and groups.
The canned food items will be donated to the food pantry at the high school so that the items can benefit the students of Guthrie High School.
Other items such as the masks, gloves, and additional items listed will be divided up to the various agencies to help them with the resource that they will utilize.
The drive will take place through March 8.
If you would like to donate items you can contact one of the FFA members, or you can bring them to the Guthrie Agricultural Education building where they will arrange drop off. If you want to drop off items contact the FFA at (405) 260-6370 to schedule a drop off time. FFA members will retrieve items from your vehicle to maintain contactless drop-off.
