Guthrie FFA takes regional opening ceremony contest

On Tuesday, October 16, Guthrie FFA Opening Ceremony teams competed in the Kingfisher Regional Opening Ceremony contest. The chapter entered two teams consisting of eighth and ninth grade FFA members. 

Both teams have been practicing very diligently since the beginning of school in preparation for this contest.

The Kingfisher Region consist of 12 schools competing in an effort to advance on to state which is held in Stillwater at Oklahoma State University on October 30.  Members must memorize the opening ceremony officer parts and then conduct the opening and closing of an FFA meeting.

Each team consists of six members and one advisor.

Members of Guthrie FFA Team Blue (pictured above) took first place, and Guthrie FFA team Gold (pictured below) placing second.

Members of the first place team will advance onto the state contest.
