Guthrie Fire Department promotes Drew Hymer to Captain

The Guthrie Fire Department is celebrating the promotion of longtime firefighter Drew Hymer to the rank of captain.

Hymer has served with the department since 2008 and has been recognized by leadership as a significant asset throughout his career. His promotion reflects years of dedication, experience, and commitment to both the department and the Guthrie community.

In addition to his leadership on the job, Hymer is continuing his professional development and is currently enrolled in paramedic school, with plans to graduate later this year.

Among his many accomplishments, Hymer is also a member of the Oklahoma Smoke Divers, graduating from Class 2 and earning the designation of OSD 51 — a distinction that highlights advanced training and commitment to excellence in the fire service.

Department officials say Hymer represents the Guthrie Fire Department with professionalism, pride, and integrity, and expressed their appreciation for his continued service and leadership.
