Guthrie Fire & EMS adds new ambulance

The Guthrie Fire Department has a new set of wheels — and a smart approach to saving money.

Guthrie Fire & EMS recently announced the arrival of its newest ambulance, a remount unit that combines a brand-new cab and chassis with a patient care module from an existing ambulance.

By choosing the remount option, the department was able to upgrade to a fully modern, reliable unit while saving approximately $200,000 in taxpayer funds, according to the fire department.

“This upgrade enhances our ability to serve the citizens of Guthrie with dependable equipment while reflecting our commitment to being fiscally responsible,” the department shared.

The new unit, known as Medic 2, is expected to be placed into service in the coming weeks.

Guthrie Fire & EMS extended their thanks to Pinnacle Emergency Vehicles for constructing what they called “an awesome unit.”
