A four man water rescue/boat team from the Guthrie Fire Department left for Houston Wednesday morning to help rescue efforts following the devastation left by Hurricane Harvey.
Battalion Chief Greg Machtolff along with firefighters Mike Nettles, Sam Kohler and Cody Withey departed from the fire station to assist in the Houston area.
“Proud of our personnel for stepping up to help our neighbors down south and also to those helping fill shifts while they’re gone,” Fire Chief Eric Harlow said.
They will report to a staging area in College Station for further assignment.
The Guthrie team will be joined by teams from Shawnee Fire Department, Tecumseh Fire Department and Seminole Fire Department.
