Updates of regional play can be found at the bottom of this story.

It was the regional field as expected for the Guthrie softball program, but the location came as a surprise.

Guthrie (18-18) will travel to Noble this week for the upcoming 5A regionals despite Lawton MacArthur (25-13) being the No. 1 seeded team in the regional. The Lady Highlanders will play the No. 4 seed Northwest Classen (12-16) while the Lady Jays take on Noble (3-17).

The regional will be a double elimination tournament with the winner advancing to next weeks state tournament against the winner of regional five (Grove, Tulsa Edison, Durant).

Despite winning 5A-4, Duncan will not play on their home field come regionals. Instead, they will at Western Heights. Lawton Mac, whom finished second in 5A-4 will not host either and will travel to Noble. Deer Creek finished second in 5A-1, but will travel to Chickasha. Carl Albert, the top seeded west team, is the only school to host a regional that finished in the top spots of district play from the West in 5A.

Host sites for regional tournaments are determined by the OSSAA with travel accomadtions considered.

The Lady Jays, who are ranked No. 14 this week, defeated McGuinness Friday evening to secure a third place finish in 5A-1 with a 7-6 win.
