On June 9th, 2012, Guthrie will come together for the fourth annual See Spot Run 5k and 10k races to honor the memory of its long time resident and animal rights advocate, Chris Cowden.

Chris Cowden was a loving husband, father and brother, as well as an avid runner and lover of animals, whose life was suddenly taken on May 17th, 2008 in a tragic motorcycle accident. To honor his life, passion for the rescue and fair treatment of animals and zeal for running, the Cowden family came together and created the See Spot Run race with Free to Live Animal Sanctuary, as the race beneficiary.

“Creating the See Spot Run race, was an opportunity to come together as a family to create something that the community could be a part of in Chris’ memory. He was a huge community member and would have loved how much the race promotes Guthrie,” said Suzanne Hirzel, sister of Cowden and See Spot Run co-founder.

Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome and encouraged to participate. Online registration is now open at www.theseespotrun.com with entry fees of $30.00 until Race Day, June 9th, 2012. Registration includes a race packet with t-shirt, timing chip, bib number and other goodies.
