Guthrie hosts 16 teams in F&M Tennis Tournament

The Guthrie tennis progam hosted the Guthrie F & M Tennis Tournament with 16 teams at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center. The Lady Jays took fourth place overall. 

Girls #1 Singles Cheyenne Royal placed 10^th
In her first round she played Duncan and lost 7-5, 6-4
In her next round she defeated OCS in three sets 3-6, 7-6, 11-9
In her third round she defeated OklahomaBibleAcademy in another close match 7-6, 5-7, 10-6
In the fourth match for consolation she lost to Grove in a second set tie-breaker 6-3, 7-6

 

Girls #2 Singles Heidi Kuruvilla placed 5^th
In the first round she defeated Grove 6-3, 6-2
In the second round she lost to Heritage Hall 6-0, 6-0
In the third round she defeated Deer Creek 6-3, 2-6, 10-8
In the last round she defeated Piedmont in another 3 set match 6-7, 6-3, 10-7

Girls #1 Doubles Jillian Chappell and Carissa Mathena placed 4^th
In the first round they defeated Altus 6-1, 6-1
In the second round they defeated OklahomaBibleAcademy 7-5, 6-2
In the semi-finals they lost to Duncan in three sets 7-5, 1-6, 6-10
In the match for third they lost another close one to Ada, 6-4, 0-6, 4-10

Girls #2 Doubles Sarah Howells and Ryan Robbins placed 5^th
In the first round they defeated OklahomaBibleAcademy 6-1, 6-0
In the second round they lost to Deer Creek in a very close match 6-2, 1-6, 8-10
In the next match they defeated OCS 6-2, 6-2
In the match for 5^th they defeated Ada 6-2, 6-7, 10-6

Boys #1 Singles Andy Hartley placed 8^th
In the first round he defeated Heritage Hall 6-4, 6-0
In the next round he lost to Yukon 6-0, 6-2
In the third round he lost to Ada 6-1, 6-2
In the final round he lost to Deer Creek 7-6, 6-2

 

Boys #2 Singles Brandon LaMarche placed 11^th
In the first round he lost to Piedmont 6-4, 2-6, 10-2
In the next round he defeated Stillwater 6-2, 3-6, 10-6
In the third round he lost to Heritage Hall 6-0, 6-1
In the final round he defeated Altus 6-1, 6-0

Boys #1 Doubles Adam Beery and Dakota Leach won consolation
In the first round they were defeated by Piedmont in three sets 0-6, 7-6, 10-5
In the next round they defeated Tulsa Edison 6-2, 6-2
In the second round they defeated Perry 6-1, 6-7, 10-8
In the consolation finals they defeated Altus 6-3, 6-4

#2 Doubles Joe Kuruvilla and Jacob Ventris won consolation
In the first round they were defeated by Grove 6-2, 6-0
In the next round they defeated Altus in three sets 6-4, 0-6, 10-5
In the third round they defeated Perry 6-3, 6-1
In the consolation finals they defeated Piedmont in three sets 7-6, 4-6, 12-10
