Lt. Col. Kyle Brede, JROTC instructor at Guthrie High School, was honored Thursday afternoon with the DAR Community Service Award by the Samuel King Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
The award recognizes Col. Brede’s leadership in establishing Summit View Cemetery as an official Wreaths Across America site, a program dedicated to honoring veterans with commemorative wreaths.
The award was presented by Dr. Mary Meritt, Regent of the local DAR chapter. Guthrie High School’s JROTC color guard also participated, presenting the colors during the ceremony.
