The Guthrie Junior High tennis teams turned in a strong performance earlier this month at the Carl Albert Junior High Tennis Tournament, with the girls finishing second overall and the boys placing third.

Several Bluejays earned top finishes across multiple divisions. At No. 1 singles, both Cayden Shipley and Savannah Schlueter placed second. In No. 2 singles, Bowen Ingram took third while Ella Huskey finished fourth.

In doubles play, Colt Hudson and Nash Huskey placed fourth at No. 1 doubles, while Taylor Shipley and Laina Woodward earned a second-place finish. At No. 2 doubles, Sawyer Dunwoody and Brady Helton also placed second, and the duo of Lillie Benton and Mylee Crawford captured first place in their bracket.

Coach Mary Hudson praised the group’s effort and competitiveness throughout the tournament.

“So proud of how they competed,” Hudson said.
