The Guthrie Noon Lions Club recently made a $1,000 contribution to the Territorial Capital Sports Museum (previously known as the Oklahoma Sports Museum) to support its continued growth and success.
Richard Hendricks, museum director, noted “the museum has an outstanding collection of Oklahoma Sports memorabilia in baseball, basketball, golf, rodeo, and Olympic sports. It is a wonderful collection of very special and historically significant sporting accomplishments by Oklahoma athletes.”
Lion Frank Davis presented the check to Richard and concluded “This museum is a special place in our city. It is about all of Oklahoma sports, but it is also all about Guthrie. The original idea for the museum was germinated right here in Guthrie. The growth and richness of this museum reflects a sports passion that is synomonous with Guthrie. In many ways it is “our” museum and the Guthrie Lions Club is pleased to provide this support and be a part of its continuous growth.”
Additional information concerning the museum; including rental information for business meetings, receptions, and gatherings of any sort, may be received by calling: 260-1342.
