The Guthrie Lions Club recently elected new officers for the 2018-2019 year. Lion David Ball has been elected as the Club President with Lion Jerry Ball and Lion James Bennett elected as 1st Vice President and 2nd Vice President, respectively. Lion Frank Davis, past District Governor, issued each officer their oath of office at a recent club meeting.
The Guthrie Lions Club is the oldest Lion Clubs in the state with its beginnings traced back to 1919. The club provides great service to the community and to those in need, with a focus on vision preservation for all. Additionally, the club supports scholarships for Guthrie High School Seniors, recognition of students of the month, multiple financial donations to community organizations and numerous special community support activities.
The Guthrie Noon Lions Club meets every Friday at noon at Stacy’s Place.
Each week, in addition to a wonderful meal and meaningful fellowship, a special guest presentation is made focusing on a program, process or activity that directly affects our community and our lives.
President David Ball added, “Lions are women and men who want to make a positive impact on their community. Membership is open to all who want to make a difference, to all who want to serve.”
If you are interested in more information, please contact Ball at 509-3173, or Sylvia Ochs, Membership Chair, at 282-0404.
