A Guthrie man is facing a felony charge after being arrested and accused of sexually assaulting a male college student.
According to court documents, Elvis J. Perkins, 33, of Guthrie, was taken into custody for sexually assaulting an 18-year-old University of Central Oklahoma student. Prosecutors filed charges on Oct. 9.
A Oklahoma County judge issued a $5,000 warrant for Perkins, who has an address on Guthrie’s Oak Park, leading to his arrest late last week.
Perkins, who was taken in by the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s warrant team, is believed to have committed the sexual act inside a men’s dorm room in Murdaugh Hall on Sept. 23.
The Oklahoman reported an alert was sent to UCO students on Sept. 26 with the notice describing a man as a light-skinned black male in his early 30s. The man was about 5 feet 8 inches tall and between 160 and 180 pounds, with a shaved head and thin mustache and beard. The man used the first name Marcus, and the name “Perkins” was tattooed on his left forearm.
As of Tuesday, Perkins was being held in the Oklahoma County jail.
