Guthrie man killed early Sunday morning in OKC

A Guthrie man was killed along I-40 early Sunday morning in Oklahoma City.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said 60-year-old Tommy Kammerzell died after being struck by a pickup truck on the westbound lanes of I-40 near Portland Avenue.

The accident happen at at 2:25 a.m. Sunday.

Kammerzell was walking across the westbound lanes of I-40 when he was struck by a 1999 Chevrolet pickup driven by 36-year-old Jeremiah Lynn Watts. Troopers said the pickup was entering I-40 westbound from the I-44 southbound ramp at the time of the crash

Kammerzell was pronounced dead at the scene due to head, internal and external trunk injuries.

Watts was not injured.
