Chris ColbertIt has been six weeks since Chris Colbert was involved in a vehicle accident on Interstate 35. It has been an up and down struggle for Colbert and his family. Now, with Colbert just out of the intensive care unit, his family is looking for help for his two small children and child on the way.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Colbert, 28, of Guthrie was travelling southbound when for some unknown reason departed the roadway to the left, overcorrected and struck a tree. He was airlifted to a Oklahoma City hospital. Related story: Guthrie man in medical induced coma following highway accident

“We have come very near loosing him several times in the past few weeks, but praising God for the miracle he’s receiving, heading for a complete recovery,” a family member told Guthrie News Page.

As many could imagine, financial assistance is in need for the family as the mortgage payment becomes more and more tough as each month passes by.

A gofundme account has been setup for the family where donations can be made: http://www.gofundme.com/Chris-amp-Savanna
