Recently the Guthrie Noon Lions Club celebrated the installation of new officers to lead the club for the next 12 months.
The new officers are Daniel Gustafson, President; David Ball, Vice-President; Dorothy Stone, Secretary/treasurer; and Gary Weeks, Tail Twister.
Additionally, the club installed new members to the Board of Directors. The new Board members included Kenneth Mitchell, Don Hardin, Bob Powell and James Bennett.
The Guthrie Noon Lions Club is one of the oldest and largest Lion Clubs in the state with its beginnings traced back to 1919. The club provides great service to the community and those in need, with a focus on vision preservation for all.
The club supports scholarships for Guthrie High School Seniors, recognition of students of the month, multiple financial donations to community organizations and numerous special community support activities.
The Guthrie Noon Lions Club meets every Friday at noon at Stacy’s Place. Each week, in addition to a wonderful meal and meaningful fellowship, a special guest presentation is made, generally focusing on a program, process or activity that directly affects our community and our lives.
Membership Chair Lion Richard Ireton added, “Lions are women and men who want to make a positive impact on their community. Membership is open to all who want to make a difference, to all who want to serve.”
